A sync that pushes B2B stock to the storefront every 15 minutes

A two-way catalogue reconciliation and stock sync that removed “sold out” labels on products sitting in the warehouse.

Situation

  • The brand ran two disconnected realities: a B2B portal holding the authoritative stock, and a storefront selling from manually updated — therefore always wrong — numbers.

  • Oversells and phantom out-of-stocks were routine, and nobody could say how far apart the two catalogues had drifted.

Approach

  • A synchronisation service pulls stock from the portal every fifteen minutes and writes it to the storefront.

  • A two-way reconciliation surfaced the real damage: variants missing on one side, duplicate SKUs, blocked items read as in stock.

  • It also had to survive the portal’s quirks — encrypted login, product codes that are not names, and “blocked” meaning something different from “out of stock”.

Result

  • The gap was worked down to zero: 1,281 variants opened, 955 stale ones retired, 432 repriced.

  • Stock management turned from manual work into a monitored system.
